4 seasons of the year - stories from Szczecin
„Four sisters”
A long time ago, at a time when
fairies lived on the Earth, and the world still was not completed, the Four
Seasons were living in a beautiful castle in the clouds. Winter, Summer, Fall
and Spring were sisters. The girls were of marvelous beauty, and anyone who
looked at them, could not forget them.
Spring had emerald green eyes, pink
lips like a tulip flower, long, windswept
hair.
Red-haired Autumn had freckles all round
her face and chestnut brown eyes. Summer with golden blond hair and cornflower
eyes. Winter had silver-white hair and gray eyes.
The girls were
constantly quarrelling who should be in charge and control the Earth . So that
there was no harmony. After numerous complaints of divine messengers and the
farmers, sister were made to bring order to in their governments. Because
there are 12 months, they decided to divide them among themselves equally .
To make people’s lives easier they agreed to rule one by one , in the order to
change the weather as gently as possible for the people. So the first was
Winter, then came the shy Spring, followed by warming all around Summer and
the last Autumn - after the harvest came.
And it’s taken place constantly ,
with a few exceptions, but you can forgive them.
